Ice Skating Rink in Bushnell Park, Hartford, Connecticut.avi

The City of Hartford sets up an Ice Skating Rink in Bushnell Park every year. Anyone can skate FREE on this Rink from 11am until 9pm. Skates are loaned to adults and children at no charge (shoe size 7 and up) if they don’t bring skates to the Rink. However, loaned skates must be returned to the Rink, before you leave the area. Our newly re-elected Mayor Pedro Segarra skated tonight, and he helped several young children skate. He is easy to spot because he is wearing a white shirt, a dark red vest, and black trousers. He skated past my camera several times in this video. This is the opening night for the Ice Skating Rink, and it will be open until February 20, 2012, weather permitting. This rink was shoulder to shoulder people earlier in the evening, because hundreds of people show up for opening night every year. Bob Crawford helped build this rink, and it is twice the size of last years rink. He owns the Bolton Ice Palace, and The International Skating Center of Connecticut in Simsbury, and the Champion Skating Center in Cromwell . Children age 5-8 can sign up for One Hour Beginner Classes in Bushnell Park at 8am and 9am on Saturday mornings from December through the middle of January 2012. Contact Bob Crawford directly at rcrawford25@gmail.com, or call his cell phone to get more information (860) 614-9077. The number of children in each class is limited, so please sign up early. Children must wear warm clothing, gloves, and a bicycle helmet if they participate in these

For some people this ice skating rink is a joy, but for us who live only 100 feet away from the rink this free ice skating rink is constant? source of NOISE. Many residence of Bushnell On The Park and Bushnell Towers now have to find a new place to live – nobody wants to hear loud music and constant announcements 11 AM – 9PM for 3 months!
This Mayor is nice to everyone except of residents of Hartford!

@HartfordBuzz, Call Bob Crawford, owner of the Bolton Ice Palace, because he helped set up this Rink. His Cell Phone Number is (860) 614-9077. THE MUSIC IS TOO LOUD, and the speaker volume should be cut in half. Find out who is in charge of the Music, and tell them you want the speaker volume lowered immediately. If that doesn’t work, call the Police Department and file a formal complaint. I will mention the problem when I’m at the Park tomorrow.? Good Luck, Carl

Thanks for your comment, and I’m glad you enjoyed Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto while you watched this video. Most of the time the Rink plays popular music, but I wish they? switch to a nice Symphony or Concerto that is more appropriate for Ice Skating.
